A new X-rated movie, Miller’s Girl, stars Jenna Ortega and Martin Freeman as a student and teacher whose relationship quickly becomes inappropriate.
Jenna, 21, shot to fame in Netflix’s Addams Family adaptation Wednesday, stars opposite Martin, 52 in the controversial drama. Jenna plays 18-year-old Cairo Sweet who is given a creative writing assignment by her teacher Jonathan Miller (Freeman) and after getting into an entanglement, the two embark on a relationship. Fans have taken to social media to complain about the movie’s steamy scenes, but its intimacy coordinator has now defended what was produced.

On X (formerly Twitter) audiences have been sharing their thoughts on the steamy elements of Jenna Ortega’s new film Miller’s Girl, with many slamming the scenes.
One said: “That Jenna Ortega Martin Freeman clip might be the worst thing I’ve ever seen.”
Someone else asked, “what is happening [crying face emoji].”

A concerned X user added: “MARTIN FREEMAN WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO JENNA ORTEGA?”
However, the Hollywood blockbuster’s intimacy coordinator has spoken out and defended the scenes in the film, explaining Jenna was “comfortable” with everything that was filmed.
Intimacy coordinator defends Miller’s Girl scenes
Talking to the Mail Online, Kristina Arjona defended Miller’s Girl movie scenes featuring Jenna Ortega. She said she was “consistently checking in” with both Jenna and Martin.
An intimacy coordinator is on the sets of films and TV shows to make sure no boundaries are overstepped between the actors featured in all intimate scenes that are being filmed.
Kristina told the publication: “There was many, many people throughout this process, engaging with [Jenna] to make sure that it was consistent with what she was comfortable with, and she was very determined and very sure of what she wanted to do.
“Part of my job too is supporting her decisions. I adapt to whatever is the comfort level of my actors, especially on a production like this where there is a large age gap between the actors.
‘I’m hyper-aware of both of my talent and making sure that we’re consistently checking in and that at no point are any of their boundaries being surpassed. And again, making sure – especially with someone who’s significantly younger – that they are giving continuous consent.”
The steamy scenes were shown to test audiences
Kristina continued by saying she discussed how nude they were required to be and what “simulations” they would be required to film.
This included barriers and other things that could be put into place to assure “appropriate distance.” There is also room to tweak, or take out, elements to the scenes if any of the talent do not feel comfortable when it comes to actually filming parts of the film.
Kristina added there were different scenarios filmed when it came to the scenes, so the studio could test the film in front of audiences before its official release due to the big age gap between the two celebrity stars.
They did this so they could test what was, and what wasn’t, “too much.”
