Reese Witherspoon Proves She's the Boss in a Chic Business Outfit

How might one dress if they were the head of their own production company, founder of a clothing line, originator of a highly beloved book club, and just an overall chic mom? Well, just take a look at Reese Witherspoon’s latest streetside fit and you’ll get a good idea.

The Oscar winner looked like she meant business when she was spotted in New York City early Thursday morning wearing a superbly constructed ensemble, which proved that sometimes quiet luxury is not so quiet.

The outfit included two pieces from Lafayette 148—a tan camel coat ($2,498) and a preppy belted shirtdress ($898) that came in a creamy blue so satisfying it looked like the brand had bottled up the froth from a shoreline and splashed it onto the fabric.

As if she weren’t already giving stylish CEO, Witherspoon took it home with a pair of chunky black eyeglasses and a coal-colored briefcase bag that she kept clutched at her side, looking like she was about to run into her next meeting. For accessories, she went all gold with large hoop earrings, a chain necklace, and rings. Finally, she added a pair of pointy slingback heels in a shiny chestnut brown, which added a subtle yet powerful pop of color to the overall ensemble.

Whether she was in a meeting for another show she’s producing or getting the wheels into motion for the long-awaited Legally Blonde 3 (one can only hope), Witherspoon was showing us that when you’re the boss, you dress like it too.
